September

First of all.....happy september dear blog friends.....amazing to think how fast the time has gone and here we are already at the end of summer........still enjoying a few sweet peas though....
..........and putting them in old marmalade and jam jars this week.......
..........here is another peek at my new book home sweet home sewing published by tuva publishing....available in a few weeks and it can be pre ordered on amazon.......this is the liberty circles cushion, designed to use up even the tiniest scraps of precious fabric....
.........pretty book pages.....tuva books are always colourful and exciting......
.........lots of liberty fabrics in my sewing room this week where i have been busy sorting out the fabric stash and the scrap bags......oh my what a big undertaking.......but slowly order is being restored....lots of sorting, ironing, folding and discovering too.....
.........when i get bored with the sorting i do some sewing and have begun the patchwork below...
.........this is a piece for the front of a new christmas stocking......
.........and for a change from indoor things it's always nice to go for a potter in the greenhouse....
..........to tend the geraniums, pick some ripe tomatoes.......
...........or gather some green beans.......loving these late summer days and enjoying all the good things they bring.....but i can feel autumn is in the air and just around the corner.....the grandchildren are going back to school, they all have their new shoes, uniforms and stationery ready.... and our past routines will resume after many months....
.........thank you for dropping in to see me here lovely readers.....and for your sweet comments which i love to read....hope september brings you only good things..... wishing you all a happy week till next time....keep safe and well lovelies.......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  1. I know Helen, there is only so much sorting you can do before you need something more fun to do. :) Your new stocking is going to be so pretty and your Liberty cushion is gorgeous.
Your geraniums are still looking so pretty, mine not so much but I'm happy to say I'm still getting sweet peas.
    Happy new week lovely,

  2. Happy September. Finally
We have had a very hot dry June and July, a sopping wet August and really looking forward to some cooler crispy days
This summer was the hottest, or maybe I just can't tolerate it anymore.
Them mosquitoes traveled from miles around to give me a chomp and that kept me in the house for good practically the whole of August.
I love the stocking stitching. This will be sweet.
    I love your book

  4. I hope your September brings you all you hope for. I'm just trying to keep my state of mind elevated during all this virus stuff. It's kind of a full-time job! I love all your designs, I ordered your book on Amazon. I look forward to receiving it. Sending good wishes from Oregon. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. Hello Helen, the book looks lovely. I am such a fan of using up the tinniest bits of fabric and this is particularly the case with Liberty prints. Jo x
