Happy Little Things

Hello again lovely readers............here we are at the beginning of september already...not sure how that could happen so fast....lots of happy little things are being made here and i am so enjoying these crafty times.....
.............first this little flower applique pincushion, made in a boxy shape and decorated with a liberty fabric covered button and a little stitchery..........
.............next is another little fish for my shoal..........
............lots of people asked if there is a pattern for the little fish...there will be one soon...
............and here is one of my new favourites....a pentagon ball on a nautical theme....love these fabrics and adding little surface stitches to create extra interest and texture..........
.........in the evenings i am happily hand quilting my heartstrings quilt.........
...........it's a nice one to hand quilt as the squares are fairly small and easy to work....
..............below is a little peek at a woodland creature...the little pastel deer is part of a set which is my project in this month's crafts beautiful magazine here...........you can make a deer, a mushroom, a tree, an owl, and a bunny to hang on the christmas tree or to add to gift bags......i'll show more pictures of them soon........
............plums from my friend for a delicious crumble...........
..............can't believe it's that time of year again already.....
..............and below are some beautiful flowers that my younger daughter and her family brought me
.............my small grandson rhys chose them and when i thanked him especially for choosing such lovely ones he said 'i like all the colours'......me too!!................here they are in the studio with a flowery quilt and a string of flowery birds...........
.............thank you so much for visiting me here dear readers and for the kind comments you take the time to leave..........wishing you all a very happy september with cheerful autumn days and plenty of crafty inspirations............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Helen,
I am enjoying this cheerful post on this hot, sunny Labor Day morning. What a sweet bouquet chosen by a sweet boy, and the pitcher you chose is just perfect. I love the boxy shape pincushion, just may need to make one for myself. You are really coming along with your heartstrings quilt and I love it! All your creations are an inspiration to me. Where do you find the time and energy for all you do? I must get busy.:)
Thank you for sharing.

I love your pin cushion so unusual.
Your garden must still be a riot of colour, how beautiful. I love your heart quilt I'm not brave enough to hand quilt yet . It's on my to do list.
Thank you for sharing your lovely blog.

Love the pincushion! A nautical theme is a way of extending the summer. Lovely work and flowers.

Oh, plum season, isn't it wonderful? We love them, and greengages too.
What a perfect bouquet you had.

Time is flying by, as it often does nowadays. I love your little balls, I shall have to try making one for my little grandson xx

I like all the colors too! What a sweet little grandson to bring you a bouquet of flowers! Your quilt is coming along beautifully. We're getting some tinges of Autumn here in Oregon, USA.. I'm going to miss the warmth of Summer. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

How sweet of your grandson to choose the flowers for you....the colours are lovely - he chose well!!!
Your quilt is looking wonderful, and I'd imagine the hand quilting is quite therapeutic.
Happy crafting!

What a sweet bouquet from your grandson. The fish and nautical ball would make good play things for a small child. I made my little grandchildren balls with wedge shapes - they were easy to grasp in small hands and light enough for them.
All your projects are filled with such pretty colour.

Apologies, problems with my text... love every photo. XX like your red cross stitches on lovely ball and pincushion. Micklemas daisies and colourful flowers in Rhys' bouquet show signs of Autumn. XOXO

so much beauty and colour in all your makes and posts! love the fabrics! you're so talented. I still have a patchwork that i started when sophia was about 4yrs yet to be completed with all her little dress fabrics she used to wear...one day i'll make myself sit down and just sew. i seem to get easily side tracked these days. The flower posy just stunning! ;)x
