These patchwork apples are so beautiful! What a great idea to use small pieces of fabric. Unfortunately I am such a bad sewer that I just don't dare to try them. Is it possible to crochet apples? I haven't seen a pattern yet, maybe I will give it a try. Have a nice week, VIola
Absolutely beautiful apples both real and fabric. I love how you made some as if they were being cut up for pies or a crumble....how clever you are! I also love how you photographed them next to each other. You are just brimming over with creativity. It is too beautiful today to stay in though for me. I've been waiting for this weather all year so off I go!
Love the samplers too!

hello helen! how absolutely lovely, your apples are darling in every fabric and style. and a new book?! that is so exciting, it will go on my christmas wish list!
have a wonderful week!

Helen, isn't apple season a beautiful time of the year? Apples grow in so many colors and sizes and tastes and have been inspiring artists for a very long time.
I love your patchwork apples, and the wit of the apple with the slice removed made me smile.
I wonder if you've ever thought of making patchwork pomanders at Christmastime? They could be based on the shapes of either apples or oranges, and embroidered French knots could mimic the cloves. Of course, you could also add spices to the stuffing.
I'll be looking forward to issue 221 of The World of Cross Stitching, and your new book.
It's so much fun to visit here! xo
Those apples look gorgeous - both the patchwork and the real ones! Enjoy the rest of your week.

Hello Helen,
Apples are an item around here lately, too. Applesauce, apple cake, and your post reminds me that I have some fabric apples in my autumn decorating box to bring out.
Lovely photos of fabrics and sewing. Your blog is always a cheery place to visit.
I can't say it better than all the other followers. Lovely.

If apples belong to one month of the year then it would have to be September! Your little fabric apples are amazing Helen, so, so pretty!
