Happy February lovely readers!......amazing to think it is here already and we can be thinking of valentines very soon and know that spring is really quite close..............
.........in my quest to tidy up and organise my sewing room i found this unfinished piece of hexie patchwork, made from random scraps of gorgeous lecien fabrics..............
.........i couldn't remember what i'd intended it for, maybe a cushion or a doll's quilt.......sometimes i begin making things and then think of a different plan for that particular project...........
...........i cut a few more lecien hexies and finished the piece of patchwork so it was a symmetrical shape, and then i made it into this little bag..........
..........to add my drawstring bag storage collection that i showed you last time.....filled with stitching treasures..............i sewed a border at the top and used the pretty rosy ribbon that i knew would be perfect for a project one day.............
.........i have been busy this week working on a patchwork design for a magazine which i sent off yesterday.........i've also been cross stitching, making a card and writing up instructions, and in spare moments adding a block to my quilts here and there........
............and here is one more little bag made from pretty cosmo fabric sent to me by sweet shay of simply sweet fabric here............shay has a wonderful collection of pretty prints in her etsy shop......
...............on sunday we had a wonderfully sunny afternoon and went for a walk.......the sky was blue and we walked through the old village, which has some very old cottages, a pretty church and one of those romantic old churchyards............we found lots of snowdrops..............when we got home i checked to see if any have come up yet in our garden.........
...........there were just a few flowering, and i brought some in to enjoy in a little glass vase.........
..........all the indoor hyacinth bulbs have flowered this week, this white collection grew very tall but managed not to fall over.........the blue ones are being held up with knitting needles (old ones)........
.............also this week i have been painting a new little doll's bed which came my way just before christmas when my daughter and son in law went to ikea.....i fancied a little blue bed to use for photoshoots and then i had to find the right shade of blue paint that i had in mind.....this is the colour i wanted.......pale sky blue........it took mr p and i a while to find it and we got it from the supermarket diy shop in the end, just a cheap and cheerful paint, not one of the designer ones this time......i have also painted a stool with it and am eyeing other painting possibilities around the house......
..............the sun is shining again here today and it is so cheerful after all the gloomy days......
.............thank you for popping in here to visit me, dear readers, and for all your lovely comments too......wishing you a happy crafty week, and i hope the sun shines for you..............back soon xxxxxx

Love this hexie bag, the colors are delicious! And the paint color is perfect for the sweet little bed. Re: ribbons, do you have an online source for buying, or do you buy them all locally (if online, please share the information :)

What a sweet hexi bag! Simply adorable. I sew my hexies every night.....such a relaxing activity. I've been eyeing those Ikea doll beds. One might be perfect for my granddaughter.
Such gorgeousness here, Helen and what glorious Spring colours. I am in love with your ceramic bunny pin cushion! Funnily enough, I have been painting this morning and using exactly the same paint only in a cute pale pink called "Candyfloss" which I'm sure you'd love if you ever need such a shade.

I love the pastel colors. Maybe spring will come soon. At least that is what your pictures make me believe. I think I will try to make a hexie bag too!
Such pretty patchwork! I do love a good hexagon project!! x
That is a lovely hexie bag, perfect for storing...hexies perhaps? ;-) So nice to see the first flowers of the year, they really do make me feel uplifted. The blue paint is just the loveliest shade, I look forward to seeing it used in a future photo! Have a lovely week, Chrissie x
Such sweet hexies make for a very pretty bag. What a great way to corral sewing bits and pieces.
Snowdrops are blooming here, too, and it's sunny out, but chilly. (about-2 C)
How useful to find that patchwork Helen and turn it into another really useful bag! That little doll's bed looks great fun. You make such sweet little projects. Happy February and yes let's hope spring is just around the corner x

Hi, I always love your blog posts everything looks so fresh and vibrant. I was wondering, do you stitch your hexies by hand? I have tried this and I never seem to be able to get the hang of it is there something I might be doing wrong?
Kindest Regards
Kay
