It's been a wonderful autumn week here, with all kinds of autumn weather and so many of the things that mean autumn to me....plus a little autumn sewing too.... like this stuffed toadstool i made....
....i've spent a bit of time in the potting shed too this week, here is the outside of it with the lovely hanging toadstool garland that Mr P bought me last year, such a nice surprise....
....the potting shed is a great place to arrange flowers and berries, as well as potting plants and bulbs....
....i bought some new ones to plant this autumn, narcissi and hyacinths as last year i was mad on tulips and planted a whole lot which hopefully will appear again next spring....
...the toadstool above was easy to make and there will be more of them in a future post, as like many crafty things, once you make one you just have to make another....and another....and then try out different fabrics and decoration....so look out for more to pop up here (as real toadstools do) .....
...i treated myself to an adorable set of garden buttons from Jenny, and here is the toadstool one fitting in so well with my autumn week....these are so beautifully made and designed...you can find Jenny Arnott's gorgeous shop here.......
......this glass jar is filled with a bunch of small rosehips from my favourite florist in our little town, she always has something special for the season....
....autumn supper table ready for friends visiting..... it will be cosy with candlelight when the evening draws in
....loving this autumn time, even with a night of gale force winds that knocked the runner bean canes flat to the ground, and even with the chill and damp...there are also sunny days and that wonderful low light you get at this time of year, as well as all the autumnal nature finds for my nature table....hope you are enjoying a very happy weekend. Thank you so much for popping in to see me here, and for your lovely comments too, enjoy your autumnal times.....Back soon xxxx

Hi Helen.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the onset of autumn more than I ever have before. Isn't that strange? I'm fast approaching my 'life begins' birthday so I wonder if age has something to do with it?!
Now, would you be kind enough to set one more place at that pretty table of yours and I'll be with you shortly ... ;-)
Enjoy your weekend.
Hx
Very cute toadstool, i love it & the buttons are real sweet!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy autumn Helen :D
Karen
Beautiful photo's and such a cute toadstool xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your buttons ok Helen - thank you for the links too! :) I do love your toadstools, especially the hanging one on your potting shed, very cute! I have to say though I'm not really a fan of Autumn, much prefer spring with everything getting lighter and greener, but am enjoying a cosy afternoon's crochet so can't complain too much! Have a lovely dinner party this evening, your table is beautifully set, Jenny xx
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures ,especially love the cute toadstool youve made, have a lovel weekend, juliexxx
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little toadstool collection. I know exactly what you mean about having to make more and more. I usually keep going until I just can't look at another one...until I rediscover them months or years later! I'm finally back behind my sewing machine and can't get enough. I'm glad I'm out of that rut. Have a lovely autumn weekend. Patty
ReplyDeleteOver here it's autumn too. With a lots of rain and stormy weather.
ReplyDeleteTime to enjoy the inside live.
Pretty post.
Have a lovely weekend.
Marja.
Dear Helen,
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty post! I love the flowers in your potting shed and your beautifully laid table. Your toadstool looks very sweet too.
I bought some bulbs as well, but unfortunately the weather in Holland is too wet to plant them. Hopefully it will get better next week!
Have a lovely weekend,
Madelief x
Just love your toadstools/mushrooms, not really sure which they are. I think they're fly agaric and a bit poisonous, but still pretty! :) xx
ReplyDeleteYou always have such pretty things to share. Hope your weekend is wonderful. Tammy
ReplyDeleteYou're right about autum...amazing colours....I like your little mushrooms!
ReplyDeleteHi Helen,
ReplyDeleteSo loved this post. I love the toadstool, it would look lovely as a garland in your potting shed with all the fabrics I can imagine you will be using. I hope you have a good time with your friends, the table looks so inviting. Yes autumn is a beautiful time of year, I do love having the 4 seasons.
See you soon, xoRobin❤
Lovely autumnal post Helen!
ReplyDeleteI love all your little toadstools and of course you know I'm a fan of Jenny's. :)

I like your charming toadstools and can almost picture little fairies dancing beneath them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving from Canada, Helen!

a cornucopia of mushrooms
ReplyDeleteWe have mushrooms that sprout up in our damp climate but none of them are pretty with red tops and white polka dots! Your potting shed is as organized and pretty as your home.. you're the best.
ReplyDelete((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Cutest little mushrooms all over, Helen! I love the plush-toadstool!
ReplyDeleteIt's dry and pretty here today too, so I wishing you the most wonderful new October week soon!
Yours,
Mia
Hi Helen..I really enjoyed your deep reds and the collection of toadstools today! Every season has so many highlights doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love this toadstool infested post, I'm particularly fond of the one you made yourself? Can I copy for personal use? and I wish I could lay the table to look as beautiful as yours!!!

Lovely post Helen...there is something so magical about toadstools!....Your handmades are lovely as are Jenny's...
ReplyDeleteI love Autumn too..my favourite time of year when I seem to gain so much inspiration from everything around me...

I love all your autumnal, toadstooly goodness! I'm really enjoying the start of autumn, it's definitely my favourite season! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos as usual and I would love to have a potting shed like yours.
ReplyDeleteOur seems to get filled with so much
stuff that has nothing to do with
the garden.
Have a wonderful sunday !
Hi Helen, yes autumn is really here now. Thanks for all your lovely photos, I love the toadstools. It really is the time to start snuggling down and enjoying the darker evenings. Enjoy your garden while we can, I have been able to sort mine out today. Bliss!

Lovely photos, Helen.
ReplyDeleteYour mushrooms are so sweet, and such a simple idea, might have to try my hand at those!!
And such pretty flowers in the potting shed.
Hope you've had a great weekend.
Linda O xx
You have the cleanest potting shed I have ever seen! Your pictures are so light filled and happy. I always enjoy seeing what you are up to!
ReplyDeleteLorraine :-}
I am still yearning after Maisie, Helen. I really must make one of my own!
ReplyDeleteMushrooms conjure up all sorts of happy childhood memories. My father is passionate about mushrooms and as soon as autumn would bring a downpour of rain off we would go in the woods hunting. And then the smell of those mushrooms drying on the radiators in the kitchen!
None however were as beautiful as your red-capped ones.
How was your dinner?
Love the berries in a glass jar - what a fab idea - am going to copy that :) Thank you.
ReplyDeleteL.
Lovely toadstalls and those buttons are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you like my baby quilt! In fact, it would fit in so well with your autumnal scheme - there are even toadstool motif squares!

Hi Helen, I am so glad you love Autumn, as I do. There has been an awful lot of moaning about the weather. I love all your lovely red toadstools, they just make you smile don't they? The rosehips are so autumnal. I would like to make rosehip syrup. I remember having it as a child, but you can't seem to buy it now. Have a very happy week, love Linda x
ReplyDeleteI love your sweet toadstools...something about these little guys that makes one smile!
ReplyDeleteI planted some Spring bulbs today as well...happy new week. xoxo
The light is just so heavenly at this time of year, I know just what you mean, soft, golden and low in the sky. Gorgeous images and your potting shed must be a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteGosh that all looks very autumnal and lovely - I'm so loving this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteHi! happy days!:) Loves from Turkey!;=)
