Here we are after a lovely lazy long weekend....sunny though chilly....and with some pretty new lecien fabrics to enjoy in the sewing room............
.............the pattern for my new gather the flowers quilt is now in my etsy shop.........and here it is in my cottage garden where the new season's flowers are growing happily.....
...........the quilt is soft and romantic with flowers appliqued in the centre using the fusible web method which i love....there are patchwork flying geese and then more applique flowers dotted around the wide striped final border...........i hand quilted it all and it was a pleasure to make......
.............the fabrics were mainly scraps of lecien, pam kitty morning, moda, tilda, liberty.....
.............i have an idea for a new quilt now and also some other exciting new work to do.......
..............the cottage garden is a pleasure to tend as it is small and compact and all the small dormant plants i put in during those quiet autumn days are now beginning to grow and bloom.....
...............like this beautiful columbine..........
.............through my sewing room window i can admire the wisteria.....
............it is like a huge waterfall of scented lilac coloured blossoms...........quite hard to capture its beauty in photographs though.....
.............thank you to everyone who entered the draw to win tickets to the fantastic festival of quilts 2019......the winners have all been notified now but you can still use my discount code of HELEN19 to order tickets in advance online here or by calling: 0844 581 1319.........
.............off to do some work now....lots of pretty fabrics arriving is the best inspiration...lettuce thinks so too...........
.............thanks for dropping by to see me here dear readers.....it is always such a pleasure to hear from you......hope you are enjoying the first days of may with sunshine and flowers and lots of crafty inspiration...................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Beautiful fabrics, the colors make me smile.
ReplyDeleteFabulous colours your blog never disappoints
ReplyDeleteEverything is so pretty. Your quilt and your lovely garden. That wisteria is amazing. Still bearable for walking here but definitely getting much warmer and the growing season will come to a halt when true summer heat sets in. Only the strong will survive then. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt and I can spy the Pam Kitty Morning fabrics! I love your style of quilting and your gardens are lovely. You must stay busy as a bee everyday to get so much accomplished. I can't wait to see your next project. All of our wisteria in North Carolina has bloomed and now we wait for next year. Perhaps I will get a wisteria candle to remind me of beauty and sweet fragrance.
ReplyDeleteYour new fabrics look gorgeous....looking forward to seeing what you make with them. Love all the little details in your quilt, it's truly wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe wisteria look amazing and I can imagine the fragrance is wonderful too. Here in upstate NY our daffodils are blooming so it's nice to see a little bit of colour....finally!
Happy crafting, Helen!
I love your garden and the rock pathway.... would love to do that in our backyard that doesn't seem to want to grow anything but weeds! Your white picket fence and walking stone path are such an inspiration to me! It's always exciting to get some new fabrics.. love that jelly roll with the lavenders in it.. matches your stunning Wisteria! That Wisteria is just awesome. I've never seen any in real life I don't think! We are finally seeing a few flowers here and our little dwarf crab apple is finally popping out a few bright pink blossoms! I'm so happy to see them! I'm anxious to see your next project! xoxoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading your blog posts, Helen. You are very inspirational. I love your bunnies and your quilts. I hope one day to make a bunny from your pattern.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is serene, I love the flowers and your sweet quilt. I love this new pattern.
Thank you so much for making me feel happy today
Beautiful wisteria - always so enjoy seeing those lovely hanging blooms. Everything is budding here and tiny leaves showing on our bushes. Love all your pretty pics. Enjoy unrolling your new fabric :)!
