Merry Making

Now i'm back from my london trip i find i am feeling very inspired by christmassy things...so it's the perfect time to make some merry little decorations for my home and for gifts for family and friends too.............
.........some of my favourite festive colour combinations were selected from the sewing cupboard.......red buttons tipped out to choose from too...........and green felt to stitch for holly leaves.........
............i have made two hearts and am about to make a third one in this red pam kitty morning fabric......
..........i have used festive rubber stamps and pretty shiny jingle bells from a sweet embellishment pack that is a freebie with this month's crafts beautiful magazine.......below is my own project in the mag this month.....

........i made the hearts from the pattern in my book simple sewn gifts....i love this long thin folk art shape...
............here are some of the treats i brought home from the country living christmas fair :).....some of the things i bought are for xmas gifts for my dearies....some of whom might be reading this so i will keep them secret for now.............but these were for our house...........
.........i loved seeing the work of so many talented crafts people.....one of my most favourite was kate toms at angel bill trading company.......... her stand was a quirky delight (with a LoT of people jostling to see it).....and i just love her sweet makes and wonderful vintage finds.........i bought this cushion, the christmas pudding and the wooden hare in the little collage above too.............
............i took this little tin with me last week (just slipped it in my suitcase at the last moment) in case i *needed* to do a little crafting while i was in london.....some festive hexies were made and stitched together when i had a few spare minutes before dinner a couple of nights........i have almost finished the project they were for......hope to show it next time.............
............now i am off to do some work and to enjoy a nice cup of tea in my ck london mug............

wishing you a wonderful weekend and hoping the glorious autumn sunshine is shining on you as it is here .........thank you so much for visiting me in my little bit of blogland, it's always lovely to see you :)...............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I love your hearts, you've inspired me! I don't recall even seeing that stall at the CL Fair but I did find it far too busy for comfort this year. Look forward to seeing what you have made with the hexys.

Helen, every one of these creations looks festive and has your unique touch. I also like your finds from the CL Fair.

I did manage to find a copy of Handmade Christmas, and quite enjoyed reading your article, as well as being so inspired by many ideas in the magazine. Now I really, really need more time!

I'm in the midst of painting my Christmas watercolor teacup cards, and think I am just about keeping to my relaxed schedule.... Of course, when I am doing these little paintings, I am not knitting, crocheting, sewing or reading! Definitely still managing to see friends, though.

Thank you so much for your visit and comment. xo

I love all the red and white, especially those hearts with all the little embellishments. What is the fabric with the printed words? I want some badly.
The Christmas stocking with the cross stitched cuff is really pretty.
Have a lovely weekend

I love your long thin hearts, too. I'm having to hold off throwing myself totally into Christmas decorating until we get through Thanksgiving next Thursday. Then I'm all in! We got the stove in after our kitchen fire, but the microwave isn't in yet. Tomorrow, I hope!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

There's no Bah Humbug here, is there?
I do love your fabrics!
I have the stamps from CB mag and am going to have a go at stamping on fabric after seeing what you've done here.
I wish CB would do more crafty makes and fewer cards.
My copy of Handmade Christmas arrived yesterday (unable to find it locally) and your little houses are so sweet. I can't wait to make one and so many variations are jumping out at me :)
It was nice to read about your crafty Chrismas too. ♥

I'm "catching up" with you again! Your treasures you got in London are delightful! I Love the "figgy pudding" pillow and the little red "print" fabric, and your Christmas hearts with the sweet embellishments.
I haven't done paper piecing in awhile but when did it I got addicted to it! I love doing those hexies...a great "tele watching" activity and once you get going you can really get a lot of them done before you know it. Love the mug too! Glad you had a good time...what fun that must have been.
